Biography
Brian Steege started photographing beautiful things when he was in junior high, when he saved up enough money to buy a Canon AE-1 with a 50mm lens. Shortly thereafter, he built a darkroom in the basement of his childhood home.
He made a career in lifestyle and portrait photography and then one day, a long time client called and asked him if he had an photographs of dogs. He didn’t; but went out that weekend to do just that and his career branched out in a new direction. As the loving owner of 4 daschunds, it was a perfectly serendipitous.
If someone asks what Brian Steege shoots now, he says he photographs animals, lifestyle, kids, and motion. Sometimes apart and sometimes in combination, and always with warmth and connection.
