Photography duo Raina and Wilson were recently commissioned by TD Bank to shoot a motion spot/brand video for TD Bank’s Access Card, which boasts that it offers consumers the convenience they want and the security they need using money directly from their TD Canada Trust bank account. In this spot, it was important to drive the idea of “forward movement” with just a hint of sassy from their lead subject.
When interviewed about the campaign, the creative powerhouse duo remarked,
“We knew that we needed a dancer for this project so we pitched a woman who we had worked with on a different campaign a few months prior. We love working with dancers- they have a body awareness and ease that is inspiring and captivating. Also, there wasn’t a budget for a choreographer so casting someone who really understood movement and timing was key- our wonderful talent Samantha effortlessly hit her mark every time She was awesome! Also, This client is really great in terms of creating advertising that celebrates inclusivity and diversity so we also put out a casting call for folks with visible disabilities and we were stoked to cast Donovan as Samantha’s on-screen partner.”
And about the movement they commented …
“It’s the nuanced steps, small and measured, that often times make the most difference in our lives, so directing this spot without too much pronounced movement, but a good amount of positive body attitude and sass was our intention. We wanted to see that come through and we feel that we really got something special out of Samantha that day. When you’ve got your finances in order and feel safe to spend anywhere in the world, it just evokes confidence in yourself and the institution you bank with. Loved working for this very special banking institution.”
