Scott Thompson – The Frontiers of Flight

Congratulations to Master Sergeant Scott Thompson, who has had three of his photographs included in the exhibition “The Frontiers of Flight.”

“Master Sgt. Scott M. Thompson is the Public Affairs superintendent of the 181st Intelligence Wing, Terre Haute, Indiana. He coordinates plans, advises leaders, oversees procedures, evaluates public affairs programs, directs assignments and provides training to the public affairs office. Master Sgt. Thompson began his military career in February 1991 as a munitions maintenance specialist with the 182nd Fighter Wing in Peoria, Illinois. The unit transitioned from the F-16 Falcon fighter mission to the C-130 Hercules airlift mission in 1995, at which time he cross-trained into the unit’s Visual Information Center as a still photographer. He attended the Joint Still Photography Course at Pensacola Naval Base, Fla., in 1996, where he received top honors for completing the program with a 99.6 percent grade point average. Prior to assuming his current position, he served in a variety of public affairs, multimedia and leadership positions in the Illinois and Michigan Air National Guard. In his civilian capacity, Master Sgt. Thompson is an advertising photographer and director in Chicago and New York specializing in lifestyle, editorial and photojournalism photography and motion, with clientele including Google, Disney and Sony Music. Hehas deployed on a variety of missions, including Joint Task Force Bravo, Operation Deliberate Force, Hurricane Katrina, COVID-19, Mississippi river flooding, and U.S. Border Patrol operations. Additionally, he has provided visual information support to many exercises including Patriot, Vigilant Guard, Northern Strike and Innovative Readiness Training. Prior to his currentposition, the master sergeant was a photojournalist with Michigan Joint Forces Headquarters, Lansing, Michigan.” -The United States Air Force
